Who set fire to the Middleton plantation?

Middleton or Magnolia Plantation: which is better?

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is a beautiful place to visit. It is the oldest public garden in the country, having opened as a tourist attraction in 1870. This garden is significantly more random than Middleton Place, which is formal and calm, and the Plantation offers greater variation.
